For Philippine K–12 schools

The gradebook, attendance, and community portal your school actually needs.

Lighthouse is the portal teachers, students, and parents all log in to — grading, attendance, and approvals in one connected system. Autosave gradebooks, automatic grade calculation, multi-level review, grades visible to students and their parents the moment the school publishes them, and instant parent-app alerts when their child taps in or out at the school gate or is marked absent.

“DepEd-aligned” means configurable component weights, transmutation tables, quarterly grading periods, and rounding rules that match DepEd’s grading framework — not official DepEd certification.

How Lighthouse works, from first grade entry to a published report
1
Enter
Teachers record component grades from any device, with autosave.
2
Calculate
Weights, transmutation, and rounding rules apply automatically.
3
Approve
Department heads and principals review and lock grades before publication.
4
Publish
Students and their parents see grades in the portal the moment they're released.

Grading runs on spreadsheets, printouts, and phone calls to the registrar.

Most schools mix Excel, paper gradebooks, and manual report card printing. Your teachers and department heads know this dance by heart. Lighthouse lets them focus on students instead.

01
Teachers lose hours to spreadsheet grading.
Component weights, transmutation tables, and rounding rules recalculated by hand in Excel — one broken formula and a whole section's grades are wrong. Lighthouse's gradebook autosaves every entry and calculates finals instantly, with the weighting and transmutation rules built in.
02
Students and parents find out about a problem at the report card — too late to fix it.
By the time a printed report card goes home, the quarter is over. Lighthouse publishes grades, attendance, and assignments to students and their parents in real time — as soon as a teacher enters them and a reviewer approves them, everyone sees the same thing in the same portal.
03
Grade disputes turn into email chains with no record.
Who changed a grade, when, and why? Without an audit trail, a dispute becomes a memory contest. Every grade change in Lighthouse is logged with timestamp and user, and approved grades lock until someone with permission reopens them.

A gradebook designed around how teachers work.

Enter grades from any device with automatic saving — no more lost Excel files, no version control nightmares, and no fear of losing hours of work. Break assignments into components, set their weights, and Lighthouse handles the rest.

  • Web-based gradebook with autosave on every entry
  • Drag-and-drop grade organization — rearrange quizzes, projects, and exams into folders, set weights, and watch final grades recalculate automatically
  • Component-level grade entry with transmutation curves and rounding rules applied behind the scenes
  • Real-time grade calculations — see final grades update instantly as you enter component scores
  • Grade entry works offline and syncs automatically once you’re back online

Grades don’t publish until someone accountable signs off.

Department heads review grades before they reach principals; principals approve before publication to families — ensuring accuracy and maintaining academic standards without email chains.

  • Multi-level approval workflow — department head, then principal review before grades publish
  • Comment-driven review — reviewers flag concerns or request clarification directly on a grade entry
  • Grade audit trail — every change logged with timestamp and user, supporting grade disputes and compliance
  • Grade locking for integrity — approved grades require special permissions to modify
  • School-branded report card generation, from draft to published parent view

Students get their own portal — grades, feedback, and attendance in one place.

Lighthouse isn’t just for staff and parents. Every enrolled student logs in to see their own published grades, read teacher feedback, check their attendance record, and stay on top of upcoming assignments — so nothing about their own progress is a surprise.

  • Personal dashboard — a student’s grades across every subject, updated the moment the school publishes them
  • Teacher feedback in context — comments attached to the exact grade or assignment they belong to
  • Their own attendance record, visible to the student, not just the front office
  • Assignment tracking with due dates so students see what’s coming, not just what’s past
  • One school login at your own domain — the same portal the whole community shares

Parents see it as soon as the school publishes it — not at report card time.

Families become active participants in the educational journey. Grade and attendance visibility the moment results are published, linked dashboards for every child, and direct teacher communication — no more lost emails or waiting for the quarterly report card.

  • Grades and attendance appear in the parent portal as soon as the school publishes them — not before
  • Linked family dashboards — parents with multiple children switch between them in one click
  • Assignment tracking with due dates and submission notifications
  • Direct teacher messaging with context — a specific assignment, grade, or attendance record already attached
  • No separate app — one family login for every child

Attendance in seconds. Clinic and guidance records, kept confidential.

Homeroom or period attendance with bulk actions — mark all present, copy from yesterday — with offline support and automatic sync once connectivity returns. On the same platform, the sensitive records a school has to protect: clinic and student-health workflows, and guidance and counseling records — each locked to the staff responsible for the student, and each able to reach parents with exactly what they need to know and nothing they shouldn’t.

  • Bulk attendance actions with automatic reconciliation warnings, for homeroom or per-period marking
  • Parent-submitted excuse requests, reviewed and approved or rejected in one click — with attendance updated automatically
  • Clinic visit logging — symptoms, treatments, medication and disposition recorded in seconds, encrypted and visible only to authorized clinic staff
  • Guidance & counseling records — session notes, referrals, behavior contracts and follow-ups, encrypted and restricted to counselors and principals
  • Parents kept in the loop, safely — a clinic visit or a logged discipline incident notifies the child’s parents with the reason and outcome only, never the confidential detail; an adverse medication reaction fires an urgent alert on its own
  • Confidential by design — sensitive fields are encrypted at rest, and every view of a protected record is logged for a FERPA/GDPR-style audit trail

Parents know the moment their child reaches school.

For parents, nothing matters more than knowing their child got to school safely — and that’s where Lighthouse earns its keep. When a student taps in or out at a gate terminal, their parents get an instant push notification in the Lighthouse parent app. Marked absent when they should be in class? Families hear about it that same morning, not at dismissal.

  • Instant arrival and dismissal alerts — a push notification to the parent app the moment their child taps in or out at the gate
  • Same-day absence alerts — if a student is marked absent, their parents are notified that morning, not at report-card time
  • Delivered to the parent app today, with SMS on the way — as our Philippine text-message gateway goes live, families without the app still get the word
  • Entry taps auto-mark attendance — present, or late after the school-day cutoff — so the gate and the register never disagree
  • Per-child alert controls — each parent chooses gate-entry, gate-exit, and absence alerts independently, for each of their children
  • A live campus headcount for admins — who is on campus right now, searchable by name or section for an emergency roll call

HardwareEntry/exit runs on RFID tap readers at the gate (ZKTeco terminals supported today). The terminals and cards are a one-time hardware cost the school buys and installs — separate from your Lighthouse subscription, not an added annual fee.

Grades, attendance, and health records are exactly what attackers are after.

Student grades, attendance patterns, disciplinary records, and clinic visits. Lighthouse holds some of the most sensitive data your school produces — and it’s built accordingly.

Role-based access — everyone sees only what their role permits
Teachers see only their own sections; department heads see their department; principals see the whole school; parents see only their own children. Every Lighthouse user is scoped by role, enforced at both the UI and database level.
✓ Role-scoped data access
Grade locking and a full audit trail
Every grade change is logged with timestamp and user attribution — who changed a grade, when, and what the previous value was. Once approved, grades lock and require special permissions to modify, preventing accidental changes after publication.
✓ Full audit logging
Shared identity and access control across the whole suite
Lighthouse authenticates through Harbor — OceanEd's shared identity and access layer — so every module uses the same tenant-aware login, role permissions, and audit logging. Tenant-scoped authorization and database rules are designed to prevent one school from accessing another school's records.
✓ OceanEd RBAC
SchoolBreach.org, OceanEd’s public database of documented Philippine school-security incidents, has recorded 90 incidents since 2012 — shared-hosting exploitation is among the attack patterns behind 2026’s cluster of incidents. Lighthouse runs on Firebase’s managed infrastructure rather than shared hosting. Figures current as of August 2026 · View the incidents · Methodology
Now Onboarding

Now onboarding Lighthouse founding schools.

Lighthouse is early — we’re working directly with our first schools rather than selling to an established base. Founding schools work directly with the OceanEd product team to configure grading rules, import class rosters, train teachers and reviewers, and prepare the parent portal for launch.

Founding-school pricing
Structured feedback sessions

One price for your school size. Nothing to calculate.

Lighthouse is a flat annual fee, banded by how many students you enroll. Year one costs more than the years after it because it includes setup, configuration, and staff training; from year two you pay the renewal rate for your band. You’re banded on your enrollment at the start of the school year and stay there until renewal, so a mid-year transfer never changes your invoice.

Worked example — a school enrolling 240 students
Standard year-one fee (201–300 band)
₱99,990
Founding-school launch rate — what you actually pay in year one
₱49,990
Annual renewal, from year two onward
₱32,990/yr
First two years, all in
₱82,980

The 50% launch discount applies to the year-one fee only. The renewal rate is separate and lower because it carries no setup, configuration, or training.

One-time hardware, not an annual cost: campus entry/exit tracking and the parent alerts are included above. The RFID gate terminals and student cards they run on are a separate one-time purchase your school buys and installs — never part of the yearly fee.
